Biography
Virginia West has been a prominent member of the weaving and crafts community in America since the 1960s, serving as the Maryland representative of the American Crafts Council. She taught at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in what was then called the “Crafts” department beginning in 1969 through the early 1980s.
West’s weaving practice focuses on woven garments for women as well as fiber artworks, and she has also written articles and books, and curated exhibits.
